Question for all those who are #selfhosting at home.....
What kind of internet connection do you have?
I current #selfhost, but on a cloud server in the sky somewhere. I see two challenges for home hosting:
- most connections (certainly in the UK) get a dynamic IP. Not ideal for self hosting. There are ways around it, so not insurmountable.
- Broadband connections are typically configured for fast download but very slow upload. Great for streaming movies (download) but terrible at uploading (sending data back to the internet). If you're self hosting you need good upstream too, I would assume.
