@moonmehta I use the Android app for short form. For long form, I usually compose elsewhere (Google Docs, most often) and then cut and paste to the web.

@moonmehta Drafts powered by its Action. Now I can’t even imagine writing anything beyond replies in the native app. It improved a bit with options for cross-posting but with the Drafts action by @donnydavis, I can always ensure where I am cross-posting.
@KimberlyHirsh Do you need to export from Google Docs as Markdown or do rich text formatting and links get preserved when cut-pasting?
@moonmehta It’s not…pretty but a solid workhorse with so many features that I keep discovering new ones even after two years.
I write the entries in a Markdown editor and added an RSS feed for cross-posting to Micro.blog.
@moonmehta Neither. I write in markdown and just copy and paste. I’m not attached to WYSIWYG. I wait to add images until I’m in the Micro.blog browser.
@moonmehta MarsEdit for me. I fiddle with the articles too much after posting to rely on Drafts, which is great for composing and sending to micro.blog but can’t (afaik) pull what’s already published.
@miljko Ah, that behavior in Draft would definitely be a bummer for me too. I want a single environment to compose and edit. How has MarsEdit been for you across composing varying kinds of posts?
@moonmehta It’s my default even for short posts. Has good markdown highlighting, the title field automatically pops up when >300 words (though it doesn’t follow the 600-with-quote rule), and it will even pull the CSS from your static blog to preview posts. There is also a quick-post interface (ctrl-cmd-p) but I don’t use it much since it doesn’t show word count. Mac-only, though.
@miljko That sounds great overall, and I’m on a Mac, so I will consider buying MarsEdit. Thank you. Odd though that it’s the quick post interface that doesn’t show the character count.
@moonmehta MarsEdit is great and if you consistently post via a desktop/laptop, it’s perfect (no iOS app). BTW @miraz is a whiz at MarsEdit, and I hope you checked out her Micro.camp presentation on how she uses it. @miljko
BTW the Drafts action I use lets me edit a published post on Mb (I learned this last week 😋)
@miljko You should ping @danielpunkass about the two limitations you pointed out. I’m sure he will fix it in the next update.
@moonmehta @pratik I have a lot of improvements to quick posting in the works for the next update!
@danielpunkass 😃 Thank you!
The other thing was changing when the title field shows in posts that contain a quote (should be 600 words instead of 300).
@miljko there is an awesome drafts plug in by @donnydavis that allows you to update from drafts … but I know what you mean re Mars Edit
@moonmehta I use MarsEdit in my Mac. It’s a native app that has lots of features that help me compose a post. I find that @danielpunkass has put in a lot of attention to detail and it makes for a delightful experience.
@danielpunkass Please include adding an image possible in the Quick Post window supported by allowing to add alt text, of course @moonmehta
@moonmehta @miljko Longtime fan and user of MarsEdit here. @danielpunkass is very responsive to bug reports and feature requests and is constantly developing the app. @pratik
@kq Thanks, I see your points. I find the second point to be inhibiting for me as well. Having no control over URL slugs even for longform posts feels off.
