Weekly Roundup 3 - Apple Watch, Notifications, Birthday & More: mattlangford.micro.blog
@Mtt I did the exact same thing (all notifications off until I turn them on one-by-one) last year when I got my Apple Watch and it’s made a world of difference at turning it into my exercise helper rather than an annoying alert shackle.
Good luck with your plans!
@gregmoore “turning it into my exercise helper rather than an annoying alert shackle.” that’s a quote. I’m keeping it.
@gregmoore So far, I think that’s the right decision. In fact, I feel like everyone would enjoy it more if they started that way.
@Mtt As I have an original apple watch, I don’t have notifications of any kind. Not on my phone or my ipad. I look when I need to know anything otherwise, bye y’all.
@alexwolfe I’ve moved that direction a bit, but I don’t think I could fully do it. Between needing to be accessible to my wife/kids/parents, I also rely on security alerts and weather alerts.
@Mtt Yeah. Same. Whilst I need some notifications, I don’t need all of the ones my watch supports (S6) so I go through the list and turn off everything I don’t need to hear from, then I got through all of my Background Processes list and turn off everything that doesn’t need to be running all the damned time. I get another 4-6 hours of battery life, and I just had mine replaced with a new battery with AppleCare+. Well worth it as I’ll get another 4-5 years out of it.
@gregmoore Ha, another good one :D
