The temperature is at that fun point of slush in some areas and very slick in others. Ended up with just wet socks and shoes while what felt like skating my miles tonight.

@jtr depends what you mean by this? I stop to take pictures most of the time but yes I was running though that mess of slush, snow, and ice 😁

@ericmwalk nice! I hope to get back to my running soon. It's been a while :)

What's your gear for cold weather (not snow necessarily)?

@jtr surprisingly I don’t have anything real special. Just some athletic pants, long or short sleeve tee-shirt depending on how cold and then over that I have just a rain jacket. For gloves I just use some thin gloves on normal days but if it is really cold I use some Salmon Waterproof mittens that are paper thin like rain jacket material. What I have found is really cutting the wind out in the winter and keeping the heat in is the best so I don’t really have a lot of layers but just try to have something shell for hands and upper body which works well. Hope that helps but I can find the specifics of anything if you are even more interested.. I am no expert but it has been trial and error over the years. ha!

@ericmwalk it kind of makes sense... Back in the day when I ran more, I didn't bother with more than a hoodie and long sleeves when it was cold. The gloves though, that's interesting.

I guess I was hoping for some magic bullet, something that would make me go "ah ha! But of course, I need shoes with mud-proof laces!" Or something of the sort. I should know better by now...

@jtr 😂.. Yeah, no magic bullet... Just simple stuff to try to keep the cold out. I guess for shoes, most of the time I use what I wear all year long. I have some Salmon trail running shoes that have wide grips that I will use sometime as snow doesn't stick to it as much but again nothing earth shattering.
