Decided.
@patrickrhone CONGRATS! 🎉
@patrickrhone Congratulations to Beatrice! What an amazing mascot too. (My daughter is still mid-decision.)
@jthingelstad Thanks. She certainly had plenty of good choices (including Olaf) but SLC is the right place for her and they made the numbers work for us.
@jkratz Well, what we were waiting on was them making the numbers work for us so it wont be as hard on the wallet as it otherwise could have been.
@patrickrhone congrats! must be nice to have clarity.
Like @ablerism, we’re still waiting to hear back from a few schools that didn’t offer early action. Some big choices to be made in the next 6 weeks…
@johnchandler Good luck!
Beatrix has 5 that are the same thing (regular decision) that she’ll now have to withdraw her application from. Hopefully, that means increasing a chance for someone else.
@jkratz Fordham is a real possibility for our daughter. Would love to hear your experiences.
@jkratz Lake Forest College (IL) was also on her list of consideration and they offered so much merit aid that it actually would have been cheaper than the private high school she’s going to now.
In fact, her appeal to Sarah Lawrence merit aid wise was basically, “Look at what Lake Forest and St. Olaf offered. Do better.”
@jkratz Distance and convenience wise, Lake Forest is the same distance to Chicago as Sarah Lawrence is to New York City. Both are about a 10 minute walk to the train station and then right into the heart of the city in about 30 to 40 minutes.
That said, she is extremely familiar and comfortable with New York City.
@rscottjones @jkratz @bethanyh @ablerism @patrickrhone @KyleEssary @johnchandler @gregmoore @jthingelstad Congratulations!
