SXSW isn’t all that popular on the social networks I frequent nowadays. The music/film/interactive festival in Austin used to be all over the timelines but not as much this year. At least in the network around me which is still skewed towards digital technology and -marketing. But a quick look just gave me... frankmeeuwsen.com

@frank Ik was er in 2018 voor het laatst. Toen was de glans er wel al af. Veel cryptobros en growth hackers, niet meer de leuke échte praktijkverhalen van daarvoor.
Ikzelf wil niet meer vliegen voor dit soort evenementen en ik ben niet de enige. En ook het tech-fest gevoel paste steeds minder goed bij de werkelijkheid van big tech en de negatieve gevolgen ervan in brede zin.

@frank while doing my blog gardening today I ran across my comment from 2008 on SXSW and Twitter with your post fresh in my mind. I think all events like that are a little less impactful now. In part still impact from pandemic, and also perhaps that large companies can control the narrative more than events.
