Mazie did some parking lot driving for the first time tonight! We found an empty parking lot and did start / stop, figured out some basic turning, and a little backing up. She did really great!

I’ll be following this journey closely when you post about it because a) Beatrix will be there in just a couple of years and b) No one ever taught me how to drive (longish story) and so I have no idea how to go about teaching it.
@patrickrhone so far this has been easier than expected. She is cautious and mostly needs encouragement to do more. And she is simultaneously excited and scared of driving the car. I worry an electric car makes it too easy. I’m not going to “old man” insist driving a manual, but think we need to get her is some gas car time too.

@pratik I’m relying on my blog to be my long-term memory as I get older, and my way to communicate with my great-great-grandchildren. 😀
