Defaults at the start of 2026: json.blog
@jsonbecker I always love when people post these, gives me new ideas. Thanks for sharing. I really should put my own list up soon.
@newdawn yeah it’s fun to do check ins
@numericcitizen I’ve been using Fastmail since long before the client exited, way prefer an app to webmail, and do have some non-Fastmail accounts. The Fastmail app is a web wrapper around their website. I don’t really gain anything from using it.
@jsonbecker I was the same as you with Fantastical up until about two years ago. Changes by work meant my work calendar no longer played well with Fantastical and my personal is minimal. I just went with apple calendar, advantage being I create entries direct from apple mail for bookings etc
@jsonbecker what a great idea. I may do something similar. I’d be curious just to see if anything changes for me next year.
@JohnPhilpin cool! Yeah I see this list as a bit different than my /uses page which is somewhat perpetually kept up to date.
@jsonbecker was going to ask about json.blog/uses/ … and why there is a difference? I can see some aspects .. eh guitars .. are very different - but there is overlap - like software ❓
@JohnPhilpin I think this year I combined it a bit because of the update elements. Under uses I keep more track of all the things that I regularly use versus the default which should be closer to one per category.
@jsonbecker got it .. thank you … I feel a single page mod coming on .. but not holding my breath 🤓
