I've been playing with sidenotes in eleventy. This javascript-based solution looks great, but I don't like how brittle its grid structure is. The notes on my blog don't (usually) tend to be as long and dense as the notes in the medieval ghost story documents, so I think a Tufte-CSS style solution would be ... ninazumel.com

@MultoGhost I really wish there was a solution that was light weight that I also felt understood well enough to maintain. I love the look, but it’s also felt just a bit too complex to get right without rebuilding the universe around it.

@jsonbecker Agreed! I'm glad I went through the experience of building the demo website, but I think my main takeaway is that I don't want to use that approach again.
