Do you ever think about how the result of failing to build for more than a decade of near-zero interest means the rest of our lives we’ll be desperately trying to stop the world from falling apart too fast and not building new things? Failure on housing, mobility, and decarbonization is astounding.
@SimonWoods I hear you and your response and I take it how it was meant… However, I do wish our problems were technical instead of political. Brings me back to this recent post of mine.
@jsonbecker Each time the powers-that-be in Austin say building mass transit (trains) is expensive, I think, well, it's not going to get any cheaper.
@jsonbecker I started reading that and then remembered I should have been working and knew I was about to go full-blog-post mode to answer lol. I have... complicated feelings about this issue and I need to not only work through them with some writing but also see if other folks are interested in having discussions beyond posts and such-like.
There seems to be a lot of energy for those types of discussions even within our small community, which is in itself a sign of progress.
@SimonWoods FWIW— I think full blown blog post responses are the best form of response. That’s what I hope to have happen more than anything else when I write a blog.
