I was in a Best Buy with a Magnolia Hi-Fi substore in it and an employee—who actually knew about hi-fi—suggested Best Buy was “sunsetting” that concept. If true, that’s a shame; they carry KEF, Arcam, and a few other good but hard-to-find audio brands.
@chipotle Magnolia was one of the only reasons to enter a Best Buy, and one of the only reasons to buy something from there were the great open box deals
@Ddanielson @jsonbecker I'm pretty sure Magnolia was still independent when I found them in the early 2000s in the SF Bay Area. I bought the speakers I'm using now from them after they'd been bought by Best Buy, but while they still had their own stores.
