I have struggled to change my coffee habit into an at home thing. Sure, I’d save money. But there’s something about the stupid little walk, small talk, and brown noise while I sit and sip that settles me and helps me think.

@jsonbecker truly what I miss most about living in the city. The suburbs just can't compare in this regard.

@mindofaaronw I grew up in the ur-suburbs of Long Island, and I don’t think I could go back. I love having one car for three adults (and wish it was 0), and I love spending most of my day taking small 5-15 minute walks to do small tasks.

@jsonbecker I take the one transit line into Austin for work and walk just over a mile to my building from the train stop. One of my favorite parts of the day. Wish walkable cities were a bigger thing in the USA.

@jsonbecker I miss the concept of the 3rd place, not home and not work. I used to stop at a coffee shop on the way to the pandemonium of the Food and Beverage world just to chill and collect thoughts.
