Indiekit is firmly of the opinion that everyone should be able to enjoy the full benefits of independent web publishing.

— Paul Robert Lloyd, Introducing Indiekit: The IndieWeb for Everyone

Excited as this is going to help me properly host my own site for the first time.

@SimonWoods I will say, the swipe at Micro.blog is a bit unfair because MarsEdit and Ulysses are almost certainly using the MetaWeblog API to talk to Micro.blog, which is an open standard that predates Micropub, something MB also supports. It’s not like special support was really built for something proprietary.

@jsonbecker He did specifically state "The early frustrations..." so I am fine with this post being relevant to a specific point in time, and assume the point will be built upon in the future.

Maybe your feedback would be useful on GitHub? Unsure if Paul will see the commentary here.

@SimonWoods That's mildly amusing. It was trying to get Indiekit working with my static site that made me finally decide I'd had enough of running servers and go all-in on Micro.blog.

Hopefully it's matured enough in the last month and a half so that you won't find it so hard.
