@pimoore I completely agree with you. Everyone has done a phenomenal job of continuing to improve Micro.blog the last few months. I’ve also been experimenting with some settings, namely cleaning up my timeline, and it’s made my experience much nicer. I’m really excited to see how the app will continue to improve in the future!

@camacho I’ve got my fingers crossed that it’ll happen soon. It’s come a long way and I’m certain it’ll only get better from here.

@dandycat I seem to remember a time when a few different Mb clients were on the rise (Gluon, Icro?) but for sure, the range doesn’t seem to be anything like what’s available for Mastodon or even Lemmy…

Personally, I think I’ll be happy with the bridge I’m building between my Mastodon and Mb activity. With the bird-site, which is where much of my social media thinking evolved, I had to deal with the baggage of earlier indiscriminate activity (everything is new! follow lots of people!); this time round, I’m doing things in a much more focused way. Of course, there’s the possibility that I’ll cruft that up over time (there’s always someone else to follow!), but it seems to be working for now.

@jsamlarose It looks like Gluon is still kicking around. It’s had a more recent update than Icro has, at least, but I wouldn’t be surprised if @vincent has devoted most of his Micro.blog development time toward to official app.

I appreciate your more mindful approach toward social media now. It sounds like it should make for a more enjoyable and rewarding experience. I’ll have to take a page out of your book and clear out some cruft myself. It’s too easy to get overwhelmed these days!

@dandycat enjoyable and rewarding: I certainly hope so! Having access to new thinking/perspectives is an important part of what I do, but it’s also to easy to get caught in the mire or make the mistake of feeling the need to stay caught up on everything. I like the idea of the “swell and cut” approach, but I’m thinking about a slower cycling of that. And maybe investing in practices for strengthening my signal filter… In the end, it’s all curation, and everything costs attention, for better or worse…
