I’m late to the game, but Omnifocus 4 is such a good app. Yes, it has some rough edges. But its handling of both defer dates and due dates is superb. Mix that with custom perspectives, shortcuts support, and email integration and it blows the competition away.
@jthingelstad @Mtt I’ve been using OmniFocus for over a decade. I can’t imagine using anything else. I’ll switch to version 4 once all the bugs are gone. I was not impressed with the trial version when they initially released it.
@MitchW I have. The one dealbreaker for me with Things is the inability to check off a recurring task before the recurring date.
For example, if I have a task set for every Wednesday at work. But this week, I was able to complete it on Monday…I can’t check it off until Wednesday.
@jospehaleo I haven’t run into any bugs (but I was starting fresh). There are some things that could be improved, but no deal breakers for me yet.
@Mtt That seems to be the single number one complaint about Things by users and by people who have rejected Things. Oddly, for me, it's not an issue. What were you using previous to Omnifocus?
@MitchW I’ve gone through all of them. Most recently the default Apple Reminders app. It has gotten surprisingly useful. But I left it because it doesn’t allow repeating tasks based on completion date (I want the following date of an item to be 30 days after I complete it, not every 30 days).
