Jason Kottke, quoting Slate:

Delete Your Account. For Real This Time.“There’s no need for any Trump opponents now to be on X for the same reasons that they’re not on Gab, Gettr, Truth Social, or wherever else.”

It’s well beyond time. You know it.

If you don’t want to delete your account because you hate link rot, I get it. At the very least, change your bio to explain where and why you’ve gone, and then change the password and destroy your record of it. Log out and move on.

@jarrod thoughts on Threads? I'm getting rid of Twitter/X, but on the fence about Facebook/Insta/Threads

@joshuapsteele I can tell you that I'm feeling less and less positively toward Threads. It seems to be following in Twitter's footsteps, and I don't really say that as a compliment. Instagram is still a happy place for me. And I've started crossposting from Insta to Facebook again, mainly because of my business but also because nieces and nephews are growing up, and that's where family things are shared. But I'm always prepared to walk away.

@jarrod funny. I did that accidentally. I turned on 2 factor and then deleted the 2 factor link in my authentication app. Now I cannot get back in.
