@joshua BuzzFeed and Coda featured your work, you got $0. I still don't understand why photographers would put work on Unsplash.
Why do you do it? For fun?
@cdevroe all I want is for the way I see and paint the world, to matter to other people. If it does matter, I'd love for there to be a mutual exchange of value, but the systems that create or allow that value transfer aren't open to me today - if only for lack of effort on my behalf - but also because being paid for photography is a gift. So until I'm ready to engage in the other systems of value transfer, I share on Unsplash. It gives me the opportunity to see for free what of my work resonates with others, and what doesn't. It's free market research, not available on Instagram or any other network.
