@johnjohnston Most of those are from blogs that are still active, and people who are active on Micro.blog in fact. It's a shame there isn't an easy fall-back error page that says whether the post was deleted... generally this is where the web falls down, since there is no universal implementation of this kind of information and never will be.

@simonwoods yes, I was surprised as I think of micro.blog as quite recent and not being around long enough for link rot to set in. A “once there was a post” message is a great idea.

@johnjohnston Makes sense to me considering the other features already available that are centred around improved longevity; and it fits in with the idea of owning your site, custom domains, etc. The good thing is you can customise the 404 error page but I'm not sure that is guaranteed for every theme, and of course it isn't automated which is what I was thinking about.
