One thing I really dislike about kindles is you don’t see the cover every time you pick it up. I quite often can’t name the book I am reading. Now using old iPad mini as reader so I put the cover on the lock screen.
@johnjohnston Nice! I do like a backlit screen at times like when I'm reading in bed at night. Left over from the old Palm Pilot PDA days.
@bradenslen I’ve got the app set to white text on black and the brights turned down as I do most of my reading in bed. Prefer the mini to kindle.

@johnjohnston I bought a 7" Kindle Fire tablet for reading in bed. It has a dark filter setting to minimize blue light. I may try it for general reading too.
