It’s curious to hear the argument - from intelligent people - that the lockdown strategies aren’t neccesary. This is their rough statement of logic:

‘Look how small the numbers are, they are nothing like what they were predicting, so why are we locked down?’

@JohnPhilpin That is exactly the thinking that I am afraid in this pandemic; people thinking it's not bad because it was over exaggerated instead of recognizing that the lock downs and social distancing are bringing the numbers down.

@JohnPhilpin that is what I am seeing in the news of the protests in Michigan. So sad that they are going to make this period last far longer than it has to.

@JohnPhilpin 62.9 million people voted for a Presidential candidate who makes unironic use of the word "sissy". I do like your optimistic use of the phrase "intelligent people", though.
