Finishing up importing my Evernote files to Notion this morning. Just in case I don’t like the direction Evernote heads in next year. I might take a look at Obsidian as well soon.

@joelhamill this was my journey, evernote to notion to bear to obsidian. I would advocate for skipping notion and go direct to obsidian. The Nicole Van der Hoeven you tube channel might help persuade you. Of course it depends what you want.

@joelhamill I've been using obsidian for a while now and it's great! I would definitely recommend it. You own all your notes and can store them locally in plain markdown files. No lock in.

@joelhamill Interesting. As a Mac guy exclusively, I've now defaulted to Notes (with a history in Evernote a long affair with nv.alt). What is it about Notion that moves you?

@joelhamill I’ve followed the same path, although I didn’t end up with obsidian. My note app of choice is Joplin. It works like a charm on all OS’s I use and syncs with various cloud services.

Still happy I left Evernote, they kept adding bells and whistles I didn’t need.

@joelhamill I followed a similar path. After reading about how much money Notion is losing year or year I moved to Obsidian and love it. And after all it’s just a bunch of markdown.

@curlyblevins There's really nothing that moves me about Notion. It's just what has been recommended for notes over the years.

@sylvia I'm not leaving Evernote, yet. I'm just exploring other notes places in case I decide to leave. I'm perfectly happy with Evernote.
