I'm looking at the specs of the new HomePod and the specs of the first-gen HomePod. On the audio hardware front, I don't see dramatic improvements. Maybe they've improved something else? (I'm not into wireless speakers anyway, I'm just curious).

@morrick very tough to determine when it comes to speakers without a listening test.
Compositional audio is a lot like compositional photography. Sometimes you can improve the software so much the hardware hardly matters. The S7 in these new HomePods may be doing some extra audio computation that improves the sound while allowing them to take out a few tweeters and microphones.
@morrick new ones should have temperature sensors and some others, alongside with a new Silicon to better manage the Home/Matter features of ‘domotics’
