A new take on my Engaged Reading Time newsletter.

3 links a day. None of them about the coronavirus.

What do you think?

@adders Yesssss. We need this kind of thing. It makes me think of this:

There is a term from the film industry that I can't quite remember... anti-scheduling or anti-programming or something like that, wherein during the release of huge blockbusters other films are deliberately scheduled that are very much the opposite; independent, subtle, artsy, etc. It comes from the observation that there are a not-insignificant portion of film-goers who are desparate to watch something other than the blockbuster and so they will be more willing than usual to try out the other films.

@adders Good idea, we need interesting things to read. Developing old film sounds fascinating. On rewilding, I really enjoyed reading “Wilding” by Isabella Tree

@adders I tried to escape coronavirus info, so I fired up Spotify, and they also have coronavirus info… 😞

@odd The inescapability of the topic is not helping any of our ability to deal with this.

@adders I see that and, mea culpa, I have just recorded a teeny bit in the intro to my next podcast. I felt it important at least to acknowledge that it was going on, especially as the podcast deals with food.
