Having a diagram doesn't make it clearer, making it clearer makes it clearer.

Words to live by from a how-to-do-slides post that didn't contain a lot new for me. Except for the bit about showing websites.

@jeremycherfas I find creating a diagram often helps me more clearly understand and put words to the thing I’m trying to make clear. Still doesn’t mean it necessarily belongs in the final presentation.

@InfinitePlayer I am a huge fan of the Duarte SlideDoc concept. Do you know that?

@liz Absolutely. And I am the same. But the diagram can be a bit like a lost wax mould for sculpture. You need it to make the final product ( which could be another diagram or words) but it vanishes in the process.

@InfinitePlayer I use it myself, but have so far singularly failed to convince a single client of its merits. Hey ho.

@InfinitePlayer You want really meta? I have actually given a presentation on the value of a slide doc, with an example slide doc of the presentation's content -- to no effect. I've kind of given up.

@InfinitePlayer Hadn’t thought of that. So, precisely no information was communicated.
