@jeremycherfas I completely agree, Jeremy. I occasionally post something brilliant in my favorite area for Bob Dylan on FB, but it's always tailored just for that audience. I can't imagine setting up a machine that cleverly syndicates whatever I produce to a variety of different destinations according to some plan in advance of what kind of stuff goes where! To me, that would show no respect at all for the real (alive) folks who might read what I write. Why do we need to automate everything? Can't we just communicate directly with each other?

@Ron Completely agree. I very rarely wish I could cross-post anything. If I do, I copy a link, or write another post tailored to the new audience. @jeremycherfas

@Ron I’m not even that bothered about the “directly” bit. I know I am using Twitter and FB mostly as a megaphone. But, as you say, each has slightly different requirements and I try to heed those.

@jeremycherfas @ron I consider automatically syndicating to be a bad idea in most cases. I think of it as Write Once, Annoy Everyone™ :)

@jeremycherfas I am a serial syndicator though it mainly notes to Twitter but that is because I am engaging in conversations on Twitter from my blog.

@jgmac1106 I actually regard you as a parallel syndicator, but that’s probably a matter of definition.

@vanessa You do it the way I like to do it. I hope you saw the reply on this thread from @jack. I love his Write Once, Annoy Everyone™ commentary!
