Bookmarked 📻 Turning radio into podcasts by Max Bruges.

As more and more BBC programmes vanish from open podcast platforms and into Sounds, the app feels increasingly like an attempt to build a content silo that is utterly unbecoming of a national broadcaster.

I listen to a few BBC radio programs in Castro while commuting. Quite a few radio programmes are only available in the Sounds app. I don’t like switching apps and do like the ability to queue things in Castro. I am wondering if this might help along with Castro’s side-loading feature which uses iCloud?

@johnjohnston They’re not podcasts if you can’t get them “wherever you get your podcasts”.

@jeremycherfas yes, but I still want to listen to some without causing an accident. Huffduffer gets me part of the way but not for BBC. BTW, I love how you have a Huffduffer button on Eat This Podcast. Not that I use it, because I subscribe:-)

@johnjohnston I get the point, and as I don’t use Sounds myself (I can wait for weeks for Mel) I don’t suffer the same way.

I’m glad you like the HD button. I wish more podcasters would do that. Most people possibly don’t know what it is. Perhaps I should say more, more often.
