@jeremycherfas I’m aware— there’s a browser extension involved that was working in the past but now seems to have bitten the dust.

I’m seriously getting to the point where I’m just gonna shut everything off and just only do activity pub and microblog for commenting.

Every now and then I have a good discussion surrounding some of my posts in Instagram/Threads and I wanna keep those.

@starrwulfe Yeah, it is tough. You want to be where your friends will see you, and also where you have ownership, and it may not be possible to have everything under one roof.

@jeremycherfas Exactly. I guess I'm trying to emulate some sort of archival snapshotting process for all the places I have had these really good discussions to be honest.

I'm a TERRIBLE blogger, probably the result of being a journalist -- I'm great at observing other people's stories and can never decide if/when/why I should tell my own. But I manage to pull it out of myself in the course of conversations (like this one!) and it is there where I usually find ~~golden~~ no, platinum nuggets of information that I may want to refer back to at some point in time.

...I'm just holding out a thin shred of hope that Threads will have some sort of ActivityPub functionality at some point as "promised" and 85% of my friends won't need to do anything at all.
