@jeremycherfas I don’t believe so. My impression was that it’s considered reputable and authoritative but that’s just an impression — I’m not sure where I got it from. I was just trying to make a point about the ambiguity of the abbreviation “smh” which, as well as referring to the Sydney Morning Herald, has also been used for “so much hate” and “shaking my head”. Sometimes it’s not easy to tell from the context which sense was intended.
