One of my current goals with regard to changing my consumption habits is to get back to reading.

Seriously, lots of reading, like I did years ago.

As such I’m going to post more about that, especially in the coming weeks.

@simonwoods that is one of my big sorrows, I used to read a couple of books each week. Now, I haven’t read a book in years - audiobooks yes but not ebooks or physical books. Why? I don’t really know, I mostly feel that I should do something more useful (and yes, poor vision plays a role)

@jemostrom I understand that. It's so very easy to get wrapped up in seemingly more important things but time away from books has taught me that, for me at least, reading books is one of the important things in my life. The process alone does a lot for parts of my health that digital alternatives never can.

Funnily enough this also includes the news. Reading the newspaper, magazines, and the like helps me to remember that it's not important to try to be aware of absolutely everything all of the time.

@simonwoods I completely agree, I hope I get back into it after my next eye surgery
