Boy, WordPress still hasn’t gotten its act together on Markdown! I have to use Jetpack? Then I have to use a “Markdown block”? And if I don’t use said block, Wordpress coverts my text to HTML, so I’m no longer able to edit things in Markdown.

@smith That seems to be the way in our new block-based future. Ghost, which used to be all Markdown all the time, does the same.

@smith I've stopped fighting and given up trying to use Markdown with WordPress.

@adders all these CMS are trying to make a Medium-like experience and that’s fine. But give me the option of simple, plain text Markdown
