Elsewhere in the park, there is no standing water, but the flowers blooming in December, while dust blows in the background, are evidence of the big rainfall last winter.

@darrenhester Thank you. A number of photos from this trip have a very strong horizon line at the end of the valley floor. I didn’t notice it as I was taking the photos. It’s something I will have to look for in the future.
