@jemostrom I'm fine opening my email and can't stand managing passwords, so I'm ok with it whilst waiting for Passkeys to become the standard method for logging in.
@bkryer 1 - Email has to work, 2 - It assumes that you have access to email on the device you want to log in from.
This sites are more cumbersome to use in my daily life.
@jemostrom I'm not sure I dislike it – but it makes more work as it does not work like 99% of the other sites. I'm not sure yet what I think about passkeys. Generally I don't like any solution which binds me to a specific device. On the other hand passwords with a password manager are causing this as well.
May I ask do you have access to a password manager but not email on the device you want to log in?
@jemostrom d‘accord. Also, getting to the resource inside of an in-app browser is not possible afaict, there is no way to pass the token along...
@V_ Yes, and that's why it so cumbersome (assuming that the email is sent and received). Using 1Password, I've set up access to a select few passwords from a "non-privileged" user and that works perfectly. Magic links via email ... not so much.
@jemostrom I understand. I think they should just offer regular Password based login options as well.
