Our 13 yo son refuses to wear anything other than shorts and a t-shirt but today we cajoled him into wearing long pants (still in a t-shirt though). To me this is freakin’ cold!

@ronguest It’s -2 in our west suburban Chicago town; -17 with the wind chill. Opting to drive my kid to school rather than making her wait for the bus. Had to persuade her to wear a hoodie on top of the t-shirt only that she planned to wear under her coat. 😐

@garciabuxton 2 hours away in mid-North Indiana, similar temp and wind-chill. Our house is holding steady at 62F. Problem is, the thermostat is set at 68F. I don't remember our furnace being so unable to keep up before. (At least it's sunny.)

@ReaderJohn At least you're properly dressed (as opposed to the adolescents in our lives). That said, my sympathies on the sluggish furnace; I'm surprised ours hasn't collapsed in a frostbitten heap in this weather.

@jemostrom I was going to ask if they wore a hat, but then I read this (newer to me) information.
