It’s a real shame that the powers that be insist on keeping the arcane stupidity of country-based copyright restrictions with the move to digital products. Why can’t I buy a Kindle version of a book because the country code in a database is AU instead of US? So frustrating!

@lmika That drives me batty too! Especially since I go to Amazon, see the Kindle book at a price, click buy and then they notice I'm in NZ and refuse to sell to me. ☠️

@Miraz Yeah, I mean I don't mind paying the higher price (even though that annoys me as well), but to not even offer the Kindle version to every region the hard-copy version is available in is a bit absurd in my opinion.

@lmika @Miraz This infuriates me too! I think it's got better in recent years (when I first got a Kindle in 2012-ish, it seemed like two-thirds of all the books I wanted were not available here) but there's still that odd one out every once in a while that I can't get, and I'm like, why. And yeah, I'm also annoyed by the ones that'll be like $19 here when the US price is a more normal $9.99 or something…

@lmika @Miraz @jayeless Count me in on being infuriated by this. One of my favourite authors has their first couple of books of each series on Kindle AU/NZ but the rest are only in the US. I've even written to their publisher. "Looking into it" for like two years now.

@lmika add me to a infuriated list - repeat for apps in the App Store and movies to watch
