After something like 13 years (🥶) of living of the feed, soaking up news and event in real time, I’m trying this thing where I stay “offline online” all week, and then consume the entirety of all my feeds for that week in one horrible sitting. The truly important things still manage to break through as they happen, I’m essentially not missing anything, but with the benefit on hindsight it becomes so much more obvious which things matter and which are distractions. I highly recommend this.

@michaelsteeber Oh my. I do this after days that I’m out backpacking or otherwise out of service. It’s a stark reminder to cut down on my feeds when I read the same headline from many news sources.
