Happy WWDC to everyone who celebrates! I hope all your OS wishes are granted. My “coverage” will be more subdued this year. I’m excited to see what’s in store for us, but not in the same way as years past. I’ll contain my hot takes to this thread. 🧵

@jarrod Wasn’t sure if they were going to mention the delay from last WWDC. Glad they acknowledged it.
@jarrod All-access on-device models for all apps is going to be huge. I think. Hopefully. Glad they didn’t delay this further.
@jarrod Impressive animations for the Liquid Glass design. I hope it’s not as distracting as these close up make it appear.
@jarrod Want some spoilers? Apple’s Newsroom has the goods a little early: www.apple.com/newsroom/
@jarrod LOL now that they’ve revealed Liquid Glass, the presentation slides behind the presenters are CGI glass screens, not the real ones they’ve used to date.
@jarrod Yay for Hold Assist! I’ve wanted this since Google showed off a version a few years ago for Pixel phones.
@jarrod I’m cool with my Watch choosing music for me. But will it keep it actually keep music downloaded like it should?
@jarrod Dark Noise mentioned in the keynote!! Congrats to @charliemchapman! Good feature too.
@jarrod Instant profile selection on wake for Apple TV is so clutch. I hope more apps take advantage of the sign-in APIs.
@jarrod I’m not worried about Raycast or Alfred, but Spotlight is definitely leveling up toward them.
@jarrod Ooooh Spotlight will search menu items for the current app too. And, holy shit, clipboard history without a third-party app!
@jarrod Gotta say, watching the keynote on the TV app in Vision Pro alongside Mac Virtual Display for group chat and hot takes is pretty great! 🥽
@jarrod WHOA! That Persona upgrade looks remarkably great. I’ve really gotta try that feature out.
@jarrod Mike Rockwell’s team is killing it. All these upgrades to visionOS look awesome. Hopefully it’ll make me want to use Vision Pro more?
@jarrod Profiles and shared experiences make visionOS somehow more multiuser-capable than iPadOS.
@jarrod It’s happening! iPadOS is indeed getting more Mac-like with better windowing, file management, and audio/video capabilities.
@jarrod Wait. What? No arbitrary restrictions on iPads that can do the new windowing system? Is this the same Apple? Maybe my iPad mini can continue to be my one and only!
@jarrod There you go, podcasters. It only took 26 versions of iPadOS, but you finally got native local capture and input selection. It’s possibly even better than what’s built into macOS!
@jarrod Major wins for iPadOS and visionOS. watchOS and iOS a little more muted, but still good. I’m going to have to take the new macOS for a spin to decide if I like the visual overhaul there, but Spotlight is a notable winner. tvOS remains a product in the lineup. Excited to dig in more!
@pratik My wife and I are super good about doing it, but I’ve also disliked the multi-step dance every time I want to watch something.
