A week of less than 10% humidity is wreaking havoc on my hands. They’re dry, scaly, and cold, which is making it hard as heck to type anything. I don’t do lotion often, but I think it’s going to happen today.

@jarrod I couldn't stand it so broke down and borrowed some lotion from my female desk neighbor. I smelled really pretty all day long. 🤣

@jimmitchell @jarrod I am so curious about why you’d not use lotion regularly? Lots of scents or unscented available. LOVE YOUR SKIN, DUDES

@Annie @jimmitchell I don’t have anything philosophically against lotion, I’ve just always hated how slimy/slippery/clammy it makes my hands feel. 🤷‍♂️

@Annie The sheer number of my guy friends I’ve straight-up castigated for not moisturizing…

@jarrod same. Absolutely hate it. I wear long UV sleeves and pants while hiking in the desert just to avoid having to apply sunscreen lotion.

@jimmitchell 😝

@rscottjones @jarrod Ah, yeah I get that. I don't love the feel myself but I hate having dry cracked skin more. i rely mostly on cuticle oil during the day (apply on top of hands/fingers only, not on palms) and intensive-care cream all over hands right before bed (bonus: keeps me from doing one last phone check) + good exfoliation (this is key!! EXFOLIATE) and body oil in shower. I realize no one asked for my hot tips on moisturized hands. you got 'em anyway.

@combatdavey keep fighting the good fight, brother

@Annie I shall. I wish stuff like this didn’t get weirdly gendered whenever it did (~40 years ago?) as it’s basically the equivalent of not drinking water.
