Juli Clover, macrumors.com:

Delta today announced that it is partnering with YouTube for a new in-flight Delta Sync entertainment experience. Delta SkyMiles members who log into their accounts will be able to watch their favorite creators, podcasts, and music artists ad-free while on board most Delta flights.

I think this will prove to be very popular — much more so than other TV streaming services. People love YouTube. And it’s smart on YouTube’s part. I can attest that once you’ve tried an ad-free YouTube, you don’t go back. I expect they’ll sell a bunch of Premium memberships this way.

@jarrod Agreed. I gamed the system for a few years but now I pay £12.99 a month and along with YouTube music, its well worth it to me.

@jarrod Sometimes I forget YouTube has ads. You don’t see any ads if you use YouTube in Kyrgyzstan. That was something jarring about returning to America

@jarrod As much as it kills me, I went YouTube ad-free, and I won’t go back now…

@cliff538 Yep! Partly because I’ve become allergic to ads in general, but also it feels good knowing the creators are getting a portion of my payment.
