It’s a very good app, but I just canceled my subscription to Day One. I haven’t written in it quite a while. My IFTTT actions for saving blog posts there got turned off for some reason, so I don’t even have a full history there now. But I do like having that automation… I may change my mind.

@pratik Yeah, I don’t know how or why mine got turned off. I’ve re-enabled them for the remainder of my subscription. But I could probably replicate them with Shortcuts into Apple Journal or Apple Notes if necessary.

@jarrod With Shortcuts, RSS, and personal automations, you could do this to any number of apps. I pull my blog posts into Collections for easy full-text search. I’m happy to share the shortcut if you’d ever like it for reference.

@devondundee I was brainstorming in my head about how I’d do that with a Personal Automation that checks the RSS feed. But yeah, I’d love to see how you’re doing it if you’d like to share. Thanks!

@jarrod For sure! I have a personal automation that runs this shortcut every night at 9:00 pm to log blog posts, Magic Rays of Light episodes, and MacStories articles I write to Collections and Everlog in different formats. The Collections format is a little odd because it all goes into a single dictionary, but I think you can see the logic of it. icloud.com/shortcuts/02b744c0d
