Well… our wood stove is “unsafe”, and our roof, which we were told had been recently replaced when we bought the house last year, is “terrible” per the chimney sweep. Oh, and the pest guy won’t return my texts about the squirrels in my roof. 2025 is shaping up to be a pricey year for home repairs.

@jarrod Oof, I’m sorry. Since buying my home in 2018, I feel like I’ve had at least one big surprise expense come up every year. This year, it was a new air conditioner line. 😬

@devondundee Yeah, seems to be that way. This year was tree removal, and I’ve still got another one that concerns me. Next year will be the roof and stove stuff — hopefully no other surprises!

@jarrod I feel this, the roof specter is looming over 2025 for me too. As is the likelihood of replacing siding. Hopefully the mortgage market improves to help me cash flow some of this stuff
