🚨 New shortcut alert!
If you’re like me, you sometimes struggle to fit your witty and very cool social media post within the character limit. It can be a fun game to trim it down, but sometimes it’s a hassle. For those tough times, here’s Rewrite Shorter, powered by ChatGPT and Shortcuts.
@jarrod All you need is the ChatGPT app; no API key necessary. The charatcer limit is set to 300 for Micro.blog, but I designed the shortcut for that number to be easily adjusted.
And yes, I did use it on the post above. 😉
@jarrod Looks great. I use something similar to generate a title and a summary for a longform post. I don't always use it as is, but it gives me a start. Sometimes, I do enjoy trying to trim a post to fit in the limit and see which grammar gods I have to choose to piss off.
@jarrod No one wants their posts to sound robotic and generic though, so it’s supposed to keep your original voice, tone and style.
@pratik Thanks for checking it out! I almost always have a title in mind for my posts, but a brief summary for a social post could be helpful. By the time I’ve written, edited, and prepared a post for publication, the last thing I want to do is come up with another way to say it all, except super short.
