I have to SMDH at how personally offended some of the usual suspects in the Apple Pundit World are acting over the DOJ lawsuit. I’m like ,“Dude, it’s a trillion dollar corporation, not your Mom. Calm TF down.”

@amerpie I’m not personally offended, nor am I worried for the trillion dollar company (lol). But I am wary of how it’ll shake out, particularly if the DOJ will dictate how Apple can design their products to work together. The tightly-integrated ecosytem has been a selling point for me, not a detractor.
@jarrod Of course there's room for unintended consequences but being able to send encrypted messages to Android people will be good. Buying my grandson's a subscription to a streaming gaming service for their iPhones will be good. I'll probably never own a watch other than an Apple watch so I'm not concerned from that bit. In the end if society benefits and Apple makes a few less hundred billion dollars, even the Apple Die Hards (me included) will be just fine.
@amerpie That’s true! 🙂 Though, to be fair, you can do encrypted messaging today, for free, if you want with apps like Signal. And cloud gaming soon when developers catch up with Apple’s newly opened rules on that. But your point stands, we’ll probably be just fine. We’ll either see the DOJ prove illegality, or Apple defend its innocence. 🍿time!
