@jarrod The Hey Dingus site is hosted on Blot, right? Do you import your posts here on Micro.blog or they just appear on the timeline?
@pratik Yep, still on Blot. I manually post links to them on Micro.blog. I’m averse to having multiple copies of the posts on the web, but want to retain the ability for people to comment on them here. So I manually post the links.
@pratik Still on Blot*. I say “manually”, but of course it’s with a shortcut. I also have ideas about creating a separate RSS feed on Blot that within the body contains just a link to the post and a short blurb (taken from the summary metadata) and having that import into Micro.blog. So it would look just like the posts I manually make, but done automatically with a different feed.
@jarrod I used to do that a couple of years ago and also had a shortcut but splitting up of micro and macro posts plus webmentions made it messier than I like hence went all in with Micro.blog. But I do love the simplicity of Blot.
@pratik Yeah, I’m leaning toward going all in with Micro.blog. But I’d need to do a lot of legwork first to be happy with it.
@jarrod Although I’m all-in for now, consistency and reliability is something I still struggle with on here.
