How would people feel about "lifetime" accounts on tinylytics and/or shoutouts? Would be some abnormally high amount like $400 or $200 respectively. But one off. With a service that'll run until I get hit by a bus.

@vincent I generally feel like monthly or annual plans are enough. But there was one app this year that got my money because they had a reasonable lifetime purchase. I wouldn’t have tried it otherwise, but I also wouldn’t have pulled the trigger at $200.

@jarrod I remember that! You made me sign up for a year through that article. Good to know your thoughts though. I’ve been thinking about something like this for some time, or more on the lines of buying the software so you can host yourself (with a bit of help of course).

@vincent Haha speaking of what @pimoore was saying… If it was self-hosted, a one-time purchase sounds more reasonable. But for you to host and maintain, it really seems more clean for it to be a reoccurring subscription.

@vincent Have to agree with @jarrod here. This is a service that requires your maintenance and infrastructure to keep running, and potentially upgrades as the number of users increases. Something like this definitely warrants a subscription.
