Does anyone else get a strange visceral satisfaction from using something up? The last bit of orange juice from the bottle. The final squirt of toothpaste from the tube. The last few noodles of macaroni from the box. There’s something pleasing about being able to get rid of the container.

@jarrod I'm with you on most of those, but how do you know you've got the final squirt of toothpaste? I can keep using an "empty” toothpaste tube for weeks it feels like because there’s always a little bit more 😂

@jarrod This is definitely true for one of my hobbies - pens and stationery. There’s no feeling like working all the way through a notebook or writing to the last drop of ink in a fountain pen. But since I’ve bought so many inks, I’ve never used an ink bottle all the way up.

@jarrod It’s like a checkbox, but in real life!

@jddavis The never-ending tube phenomenon, I know it well! It really is such a tease.

@chrisfoley Yes! It’s a problem for things that we like to keep extras on hand. We have too many cans of beans for me to ever get the satisfaction of using them up. 😂
