Was at the Apple Store last week and the guy helping me commented that “more people are coming in for the iPhone 13 mini than you’d think.”
Take this anecdote for whatever you will, but thought it was a bit surprising. I should have asked some more questions, but I always feel weird trying to poke for on-the-ground feelings about what products are selling well at the Apple Store.
@matt I held out for the iPhone Mini 13 until the 14s came out to save a bit and upgrade storage. Love the size both in my pocket and in my hand. Reported struggles of 14 plus may show room for only a couple of options
@matt it really feels like Apple doesn’t understand that market very well (being the first SE, second SE, and mini) because they make some weird decisions around those models.
@matt My wife and I have both upgraded from the iPhone 12 mini to the 13 mini since the 14 came out. (We were trying to hold out for future minis but our battery health tanked.)
@matt Don’t get my hopes up, Matt. Unless something really good comes along, I’ve come to peace knowing I’m going to ride my 13 mini into the ground. I just can’t see going back to anything bigger!
@Psimonkey10 It’s an odd product! Finally using it made me understand the weird space it occupies…I can see why people love it, but it definitely feels more niche than the other sized phones in the lineup. I’d really love if they could keep making a phone this size, even if it’s always the lowest seller.

@matt Nothing would make me happier about a new iPhone than an updated mini. I _love_ mine, the feel in my hand. Every time I pick up my previous (12 pro) phone, it feels absurdly huge.
