Brazil is suffering from criminal and political led arson in farms and vegetation. The first picture shows the smoke and dust clouds from the fires in my area. The second picture is from yesterday. You can’t see the buildings. This morning was the same. Huge financial losses and health threats.

@brunocampos That’s devastating. When Canada had their wildfires, even from afar, it got pretty bad where I lived. So I can't even imagine how it is to be that close.

Stay safe!

@jade thank you, Jade. Yeah it’s being a pretty bad experience, but I think we got it under control now. We’re alert. Sadly it wasn’t wildfire, but arson

@brunocampos Interesting. I read a few articles on it and they all made it seem like it was due to the weather. Not saying you're wrong—you live there obviously—but do you have any sources?

@jade The press and the gov are slowly starting to admit. We're on the dry season, so it's pretty easy to set crops and vegetation on fire. www.cnnbrasil.com.br/nacional/... www.correiobraziliense.com.br/politica/...

I'm very disappointed on the federal gov that only sent an army tanker aircraft two days later. Anyway, it rained all day yesterday and the air quality is a little better now :)

@brunocampos Thanks for the links. It's interesting how the non-local media failed to mention that (BBC, Reuters, AP)

@jade I honestly think they wont be reporting that for a number of reasons
