@jack Obviously this is a very personal decison, but I would go with #3. Never underestimate the loss of inertia in these endeavors.
@jack what about swapping domains. Leave the content where it is.
But point copingmechanism.com to where baty.net points now and vice verse. Then your identity would be right.
It would break everything while dns propagates which provides the thrill of change without as much work. ;)
@jack Since you’re already on Micro.blog, couldn’t all these goals be achieved there, including the right fediverse name?
> I’m fascinated by the new ActivityPub features being built into Ghost. This would let me be part of the “Fediverse” without needing to belong to any specific instance of anything. I could blog and post to social media from the same place. People could follow me there, and I could follow them.

> But I’m stuck. I had planned to leverage the copingmechanism.com domain for this, but I don’t want to “live” at that domain. My domain is baty.net. My fediverse handle should be @jack because that’s the ideal option, right?
Or is there something different about how Ghost is doing ActivityPub?
@jarrod I could have moved baty.net to Micro.blog. I recently renewed my subscription so I could toy with the idea. I ended up sticking with my original plan to try and participate on social media without being “part of an instance”. Going it alone, sort of. Still not sure if it’s the way to go.
@mineinmono Well, I went with #1. It remains to be seen how big a mistake that was :)
