I got one of these fancy BenQ screenbar lights and it’s great, but now I’ve been made painfully aware how astonishingly filthy my keyboard is.

@jack there are no solutions, there are only trade-offs.

@jack I was thinking about buying one of those BenQ lights yesterday, but it is kind of pricey. Is it worth it? How is the light quality? Did you get the one with the dial control or the base model?

@mjdescy I have the base model. I quite like it (after one day). The color is adjustable and the auto-dimming works well. I didn't believe it wouldn't cause reflections on the monitor but it really doesn't. I love that it's powered by USB (plugged into an extra port on the back of the monitor). So far so good!

@jack The concept of screenbar light is new to me. Are they useful?

@amit Depends on what you mean by "useful", I guess. I was looking for a replacement for my old flourescent lamp and ran into the screenbar. It's unobtrusive, takes no space on my desk, and does not use a power outlet. It's a keeper.

@jack What a beautiful design insight; it's a waterfall rather than a firehose.
