@jack is that a Rega? How do you like it? I sold my turntable in 2015 and kept my records. I was moving and my wife and I were expecting. Haven’t gotten a new one but lately been considering one for my office. Maybe a Rega, maybe something else.
@lukemperez Yes, it's the entry level P1 from about a decade ago. It sounds fine to me (I did replace the cartridge) and has never given me any trouble. I dread the day it dies because I worry I'll try something fancier and find it doesn't sound any better :). I've no reason not to recommend it, but I can only compare it to my ancient Thorens and this one sounds better to me.
@jack yeah, I’m the other way around where I always worry that I’m missing some thing more if I just spent a little more. Though I do grant there are diminishing returns at some point. Since it won’t be in a dedicated listening room, just my work office with a headphone amp, I’m actually less concerned about it now.
